ZINC PCA
Also known as: AC-ZPCA
CAS Number: 15454-75-8
Key Benefits
Sebum regulation, antimicrobial, zinc delivery for acne-prone skin
How It Works
Zinc salt of L-pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (PCA). The zinc ion regulates 5-alpha-reductase, reducing DHT-mediated sebum overproduction. The PCA moiety is an NMF component providing concurrent hydration. Antimicrobial activity against P. acnes.
Why BP Derma Uses It
Zinc PCA addresses oily skin at the hormonal level by reducing the enzymatic process that drives sebum overproduction. Unlike occlusive anti-sebum agents, it works preventively while simultaneously hydrating with its PCA component.
